Saica Pack, a leading provider of corrugated cardboard packaging solutions based in Manchester, collaborated with Ergometric to prioritise the well-being of their workforce. This case study unveils how Ergometric's tailored DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessments led to ergonomic solutions, ensuring optimal comfort for Saica Pack's employees engaged in the recycled cardboard and paper industry.

Client Background: Saica Pack, dedicated to sustainable corrugated cardboard solutions, recognised the importance of employee well-being. Concerned with the comfort and productivity of their workforce, Saica Pack engaged Ergometric for DSE assessments.

The Challenge: Saica Pack sought to enhance the ergonomic conditions for their staff engaged in the production of corrugated cardboard packaging. HR initiated 16 DSE assessments to identify specific needs for improvements in workstations.

Ergometric's Tailored Solutions: Following the DSE assessments by qualified members of our team, Ergometric implemented a range of tailored ergonomic solutions, including:

  1. Ergonomic Task Chairs: Customised task chairs were provided to address individual comfort needs, promoting better posture and reducing discomfort during prolonged work periods.
  2. Lighting Adjustments: Lighting alterations were made to improve visibility and reduce eye strain, creating a more comfortable working environment.
  3. Ergonomic Laptop Stands: Employees received ergonomic laptop stands to elevate screens to eye level, reducing neck strain and promoting a more neutral posture.
  4. Monitor Arms: Adjustable monitor arms were introduced for personalised screen positioning, allowing employees to set up their workstations according to their preferences.
  5. Short Travel Keyboards: For improved typing comfort, short travel keyboards were provided, enhancing efficiency and minimising strain on the hands and wrists.
  6. Split Raised Keyboards: Employees requiring specialised keyboard setups received split raised keyboards, accommodating unique ergonomic needs.
  7. Vertical Mouse: To reduce wrist strain and promote a more natural hand position, vertical mice were introduced where needed.
